Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings has officially released in theaters everywhere today! I can’t lie, I watched it last night. I bought my ticket a month ago in preparation for this movie! This movie follows Shaun aka Shang-Chi as he finds himself facing his past and the Ten Rings Organization. Shang-Chi is played by Simu Liu and he did an AMAZING job. We also have Meng’er Zhang playing Xialing. This is her acting debut and what a movie to start out in. She was absolutely fantastic! The rest of the cast is star studded. Awkwafina, Tony Chiu-Wai Leung, Fala Chen, Michelle Yeoh, Wah Yeun, Florian Munteanu, Zach Cherry, and Ben Kingsley fill out the rest of the cast and give us an amazing performance. And YES, you read that right, Ben Kingsley aka Trevor aka The Mandarin from Iron Man 3 is also in this movie!
The beauty of Shang-Chi is that even though it is set in the MCU, you don’t have to know anything about the MCU to watch and enjoy this movie. The connections are explained quickly and simply so you never feel like you’re missing out on something. Shang-Chi can stand on its own and that’s what takes it from just good to great. Watch the review to find out what I liked, didn’t like, and what I though was downright hilarious. There aren’t any spoilers so that you can go into the movie with clear mind.
